The film soundtrack's official website ran a trivia contest to promote the film, giving winners canisters of Dapper Dan pomade, according to this film trivia site: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190590/trivia
Also, according to postings on Wikipedia:
"Wooly Willy is a toy in which metal filings are moved around a character's face, in order to make unique hairdos and facial hair.
The product is manufactured solely in Smethport, Pennsylvania, about 10 miles from the world headquarters of Zippo lighters and Case Knives.
Once the toy took off in popularity, a larger version named Dapper Dan The Magnetic Man was created. Eventually Hair-Do Harriet, Doodle Bug, Hair Bear Jr., and Whiskers the Cat were added to the line-up.
One Hollywood movie studio ordered a large order of Wooly Willys featuring the likeness of their very popular leading man and leading woman. The actress didn't approve, saying it diminished her image, and the entire run was destroyed."
"In March 2006 VH1 named Wooly Willy to #81 on their Top 100 "I Love Toys" show."
Trivia
"Dapper Dan was also the name of a fictional hair pomade in the Joel Coen film O Brother Where Art Thou?. The only other fictional hair pomade to appear in that movie is called "Fop".
In a Family Guy episode, Lois Griffin converses with a real-life Wooly Willy."
